Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-25

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Abstract27 (the "Service"), a managed Ghost CMS hosting platform operated by Abstract 27 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 07504698, with its registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF ("Abstract27", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Abstract27 provisions, hosts, and maintains Ghost — an open-source publishing platform — on your behalf. We handle the servers, SSL certificates, updates, deliverability, and daily backups so that you can publish content, send newsletters, and run memberships. Ghost is a third-party open-source project; we are not affiliated with the Ghost Foundation. Specific features and usage limits depend on the plan you choose.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for safeguarding access to the email address used to sign in, since we use magic links rather than passwords. Notify us promptly at hello@abstract27.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. You are solely responsible for the content you publish and must ensure you hold the necessary rights to it. We may suspend or remove content, or suspend a site, where we reasonably believe it breaches that policy or applicable law.

4. Fees, billing, and taxes

Paid plans are billed in euros (EUR) through our payment provider, Creem.io, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means Creem.io sells the subscription to you on our behalf, issues your invoice, and collects and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax. Prices shown are inclusive of VAT where it applies. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until cancelled.

5. Free trial

Each plan includes a 14-day free trial that does not require a credit card. If you do not choose a paid plan before the trial ends, your site is paused and then scheduled for deletion as described in section 8, after we email you a full export of your content.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Because every plan begins with a free trial, payments are non-refundable; full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

7. Your content and data

You own all content, member data, and intellectual property you create or upload through the Service. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, back up, and transmit it solely to operate the Service for you. The Service is built on open-source Ghost with no lock-in: you can export your posts, members, and images in standard formats at any time.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if payment fails, or if required by law. When a trial or subscription ends without renewal, the site is suspended, then archived with a content export made available, and finally deleted after a retention window. We will give you reasonable notice and the opportunity to export your content before permanent deletion, except where we must act immediately to comply with the law.

9. Warranties and liability

We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care but on an "as available" basis, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will notify you by email or within the Service before it takes effect. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@abstract27.com.
